In the same way that
Botox treats hyperactive muscles that cause wrinkling, so does this latest
injectable, with the use of an acetylcholine release inhibitor and a
neuromuscular blocking agent to relax facial muscles that cause frowns and
lines.
Dysport has been used successfully around the world, and was FDA-approved in April 2009. It is currently Botox’s only competitor on the market and Lisa received extensive training in 2009 with Dysport expert and injector Dr. Michael Fiorello. So, how does this product compare with Botox? Some medical professionals claim that Dysport works faster, and may provide longer correction. Others conclude there is little difference and that the two products are fairly comparable. Yet, there are certain differences in the size of the toxin molecule and so some medical professionals report that Dysport is a bit trickier to use than Botox. Possible side effects are similar to those of Botox. Lisa will consult with each patient to determine which product is best. Her many years of experience in the field of facial rejuvenation and her skill with injectables ensure that patients can feel safe under Lisa’s care. Prices vary. |
